Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

7/18/2019 (Permalink)

From 7/18-7/21 there has been an Excessive Heat Warning for all over Central Kentucky. While we typically do not consider heat being a threat to us, it is predicted that the heat index will rise to 100°-110° every afternoon throughout the weekend. It is unfortunate that this is the time of the week that many people get their outdoor work done or do activities outside. Being outdoors in these temperatures for any period of time can be very dangerous. If you will be outside working, playing, tending to animals, or playing outdoors, be very careful and take note of any signs or symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

If you do have to be outdoors, make sure to cool off in the air conditioning or shade periodically, drink plenty of fluids, check on any neighbors or elderly that may be impacted, and make sure any pets are also regularly being cooled off. All animals should also have access to plenty of fresh, cool water. It is also a good idea to move any activities until the morning or late afternoon.
